Weare, NH – January 23, 2008 – The Granite State Telephone Pioneer Club is pleased to announce that it recently donated over $5,800 to local charities in Granite State Telephone’s serving area. The funds were distributed to over ten different organizations, some of which included food pantries in the towns of Chester, Sandown and Weare, senior centers in the towns of Washington and Chester, the Hillsboro House nursing home, and the Chester Fire Department.
The Granite State Telephone Pioneer Club is a philanthropic organization that was founded by the employees of Granite State Telephone in 1992 to serve the communities of southern New Hampshire. “For the past sixteen years, the Granite State Telephone Pioneer Club has strived to make a difference in the community,” comments Chris Rand, Pioneer Club Treasurer. “We are pleased to be able to make these contributions to such worthwhile organizations.”
The Club is an active chapter of the Independent Telephone Pioneer Association, a national, non-profit widely known for its charity work and philanthropic support of a variety of associations. Over 30 Granite State Telephone employees are members of the Granite State Telephone Pioneer Club. They organize various volunteer and fundraising events throughout the year and have made contributions to numerous charitable causes.
