WEARE, NH August 1, 2006 Granite State Telephone announced today that it has renewed the following schools' and libraries' participation in the company's Education Link Program for the 2006-2007 school year: Chester Academy, Chester Public Library, Dunbarton Elementary School, Hillsboro Christian School, John Stark Regional High School, Shedd Free Library, Washington School District, and Weare Public Library.
The Education Link program, introduced in 1998, is a cooperative effort between Granite State Telephone and GSInet, its affiliate Internet service provider. The program provides the power of the Internet to schools and libraries within the company's service area: Chester, East Deering, Hillsboro Upper Village, Sandown, Washington, Weare, and Windsor. The two companies equip schools and libraries with telephone service, unlimited high-speed Internet access, and email FREE of charge.
"Supporting the educational needs of schools and libraries in our service area is a top priority," explains Bill Stafford, chief operations officer. "Providing these institutions with free access to the Internet makes a wealth of information available to students and the general public that they may not otherwise have been able to access."
